Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Brisk shipping was recorded at the Port where seven ships C.V Maersk Chicago, C.V OOCL Kobe, CMA CGM Taska, M.V Nord Phoenix, M.T Vas, M.T SC Taipei and M.T Al-Soor-II carrying containers, Canola seeds, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liqvid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday, 28th January.

Meanwhile two more ships with containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth Occupancy:

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at sixty four percent on Wednesday, where nine ships namely, C.V Maersk Chicago, C.V OOCL kobe, CMA CGM Taska, M.V Arkas, M.V Icarus, M.V Nord Phoenix M.T Yas, M.T SC Taipel and M.T Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to lood/offload Containers, Cement, Canola seeds, Coal, Chemicals, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo Throughput:

Cargo volume during last 24 hours handled at 123,387 tonnes, comprises 88,849 tonnes imports and 34,538 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 4,800 Containers (TEUs) (3,300 imports and 1,500 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port. Departures:

M.V Arkas sailed out to sea on Thursday morning after completion of loading of 35,000 tonnes of cement, while three more container vessel 'Maersk Chicago' , OOCL Kobe' and CMA CGM Toska' are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Arrival Schedule:

Three ships C.V Judith, C.V Nordic Hong Kong and NYK Furano carrying containers are expected to take berth at Container Terminal berth# 5.6 & 9 respectively on Thursday, 29th January-2015.
