A spokesman of the agriculture department said on Monday, that farmers should water the crop second time after 80 to 90 days of its sowing.
In the absence of required amount of water at this stage the quantity of wheat grain reduces and approximately it reduces the yield upto 12 percent, he added.
He said in rain-fed areas, farmers should remove weeds with hoeing method and must use recommended insecticide to remove weeds with sharp edges and broad leaves.
Weeds also reduce production upto 44 percent so growers should pay due attention on their removal.
