Power shortfall surges to 4,500 MW

ISLAMABAD: Power supply from Uch-1 (500 MW) and Uch-2 (300 MW) to the national grid system have suspended due to blowing up main gas pipeline by miscreants in Dera Murad Jamali.

According to the spokesman of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), the miscreants had planted explosive material with the pipeline supplying gas to the Uch power plants.

The power shortfall in the country has also surged to 4,500 MW due to suspension of power supply from the power plants.

Currently the generation stood at 7,500 MW against the demand of 12,000 MW, the spokesman said
