10 killed, seven injured in Karachi carnage
According to details, two men were gunned down by unidentified assailants at Khalilabad, in the limits of Shahrah Noor-e-Jehan Police Station.
An official of police station said that 60-years-old Zar Lal Khan and his son 33-years-old Niaz Khan alias Niazi were sitting outside their home situated at Khalilabad Street-12, North Nazimabad, when unidentified armed men riding on a bike and opened fire on them.
As a result Zar Lal Khan died on the spot, while Niazi received critical wounds and rushed to Qatar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Later, the body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, unidentified armed men opened fire on 21-year-old Munawar Husain son of Ali Dad as he was riding bike at Abul Hasan Asfahani Road, in the limits of Mobina Town police station. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities, police said.
A man was shot dead in Khuda-ki-Basti, in the limits of Surjani town police station. Police said that 17-year-old Imran Hussain son of Mohammad Husain was standing outside his home situated at Khuda ki Basti near Taisar Town when unidentified armed men riding a bike opened fire on him and escaped.
The victim died on the spot.
The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs, police said.
Two bodies of men, with their hands and feet tied with ropes, were found from the limits of Pak Colony Police Station.
An official Nadim at the station said the deceased were identified as Ashfaq resident of Gharib Nawaz Colony and Muzammil Sultan, 20, son of Sultan Mehmood, a resident of Pak Modern Colony. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
Separately, a man and his wife were killed allegedly by their son, over property dispute, in the limits of Baldia Police Station.
Constable Aman Ullah said Shams-ur-Rehman and his wife Sultana were killed near Chandni Chowk area when the accused opened fire on them. The culprit fled soon after the incident. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
A police official was killed by unidentified armed men near his home at Mansehra Colony, Landhi area in the limits of Sharafi Goth Police station, police said.
An official Shabir said the deceased, Tariq, belonging to bomb disposal squad was gunned down by culprits near Bismilla Masjid of Mansehra Colony.
The killers fled after their swift action. The body was taken to JPMC for postmortem.
In yet another incident, a man was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Gulistan-e-Johar area, in the limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal Police Station.
Police said that unidentified armed men riding a bike opened fire on 40-year-old Shahidullah when he was busy to make tea in his teashop situated at Gulistan-e-Johar Block-17. As a result he died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities, police said.
Beside more than seven people were injured in different firing incidents in various parts of the city including Surjani Town, Soldier Bazaar, North Nazimabad and Kehkashan Society. They were identified as 24-years-old Shoaib son of Habib, 30-year-old Shah Nawaz, 60-year-old Rab Nawaz and 18-year-old Bano.
They were rushed to different hospital of the city including JPMC, CHK and ASH.
The armed miscreants also burnt more than seven vehicles in the violence-hit areas of the city.
