Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 69 percent on Thursday where a total of nine ships namely C.V Glory, C.V Pago, C.V Nysted Maersk, M.V Wales-II, M.V Alaska-II, M.T Golden Ambrosia, M.T Anggraini, M.T Gas Sulawesi and M.T Karachi were currently occupying berths to load/offload containers of cement, chemicals, palm oil, LPG and furnace oil during the last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operations were carried out efficiently at the port where a cargo volume of 133,136 tonnes, comprising 72,761 tonnes import cargo and 60,375 tonnes export cargo inclusive containerized cargo carried in 4,951 containers (TEUs) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Three ships C.V Pago, C.V Nysted Maersk and M.T Gas Sulawesi sailed out sea on Friday morning, while another ship C.V Glory is expected to sail out the same day.

Container ship MSC Magali is expected to take berth at QICT on Friday, July 29, while two more ships C.V ACX Hibicus and M.V Hai Yu China carrying containers and 26,200 tonnes Urea are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, July 30.
