Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Pona, C.V MSC Vienna, M.T Feng Hai-35 and M.T Al-Soor-II carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Meanwhile six more ships ships with containers, steel coil, chemicals and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period.

Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at fifty seven percent ont Monday, where eight ships namely ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Pona, C.V MSC Vienna, M.V Alam Madu, M.V Minoan Grace, m.T Ann Kjersti, M.T Feng Hai-35 and m.T Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sunflower seeds, fertilizer, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 79,780 tonnes, comprises 46,728 tonnes imports and 33,052 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,852 containers (TEUs) (1,688 imports and 1,164 exports TEUs) were handled at the port.

Two ships, chemicals carrier 'Feng Hai-35' and container ship 'Safmarine Ngami' is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Five ships C.V CMA CGM Debussy, C.V Al-Abdali, M.V BBC Chemicals Spring, M.V Sun Bay and M.T Gas Ionian carrying containers, project cargo and chemicals are expected o take berths at QICT, MW-3, MW-4 and EVTL respectively on Tuesday, while two more container ships 'C.V CMA Rablais' and 'Maersk Columbus' are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
