Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V MSC Freedom, C.V Posen and M.T Bahrain Vision carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim international Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively at Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Meanwhile another ship with containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at seventy one percent on Sunday, where ten ships namely ships C.V MSC Freedom, C.V Posen, C.V MSC Antigua, M.V Virginia, M.V Ikan Salman, M.V Alam Madu, M.T Rich Sino, M.T Argent Gerbera, M.T Bahrain Vision and M.T Harizon Diana are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, wheat, palm oil, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 98,188 tonnes, comprises 78,257 tonnes imports and 19,931 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,890 containers (TEUs) (841 imports and 1,049 exports TEUs) were handled at the port during lat 24 hours.

Three ships C.V Posen, C.V MSC Antigua and M.T Harizon Diana sailed out to sea on Monday morning while three more ships c.V MSC Freedom, m.V Virginia and M.T Argent Gerbera are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Two ships C.V Safmarine Ngami and M.T GSW Forward carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Monday, while two more container ships 'Jazan' and Maersk Kalamata' are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
