ISLAMABAD: National Assembly was informed Tuesday that there is no gas load management for domestic consumers across the country.

Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana informed the House that gad load shedding is being done for CNG and industrial sectors while supply continues for domestic and commercial consumers.

Responding to a Calling Attention Notice, the Parliamentary Secretary said load management for different sectors has to be done due to shortage of gas supply.

There is 2000 mmcfd gap in supply and demand that is resulting in load management for certain areas.

She told the House that since November 26 till to date no load management has been done for domestic consumers and if there is any complain it may be due to maintenance work. Even then the members should point out any such examples and the ministry will take appropriate action.

Answering a question, she said, fertilizer and other industrial sectors except the export sector, gas load management is being done.

MNAs Haji Akram Ansari, Mian Abdul Mannan and Nisar Ahmed Jatt had drawn the attention of the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources towards gas load management and low pressure in different areas.

The members had complained that in some areas the gas supply was not proper and domestic consumers were bearing the brunt of this problem.

The members were assured that there is no gas load management for domestic consumers and any complaints of the members will be addressed accordingly.
