Russian rouble sets new all-time low against US dollar

MOSCOW: The Russian rouble weakened to more than 50 to the US dollar in late Friday trade, setting a new all-time low.

The currency, which hit 50.0040 to the dollar at around 1900 GMT, has lost a third of its value this year as Western sanctions imposed over the crisis in Ukraine and falling oil prices weigh on Russia's weak economy.
