Turkey's 10 year benchmark bond yield drops to lowest in 1-1/2 years

ISTANBUL: Turkey's 10-year benchmark bond yield dropped to 7.97 percent, its lowest in 1-1/2 years, on lower oil prices and expectations that inflation will fall in the coming period.

The Turkish lira firmed to 2.2248 against the dollar by 1140 GMT from 2.2292 late on Tuesday, while Istanbul's main share index was up 0.18 percent.
