Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI : Brisk shipping was observed at the Port Qasim where five ships carrying containers and furnace oil berthed at

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at sixty nine percent on Wednesday where a total of nine ships namely C.V ACX Marguerite, C.V CMA CGM Puccini, C.V Kathec Rickmers, C.V MSC Diaman, M.V Diama Falcon, M.V Topaz-II, Golden Ambrosia, M.T Olympic Sponsor and M.T Chemroad Fuji are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, Wheat, Cement, Chemicals, Furnace oil and Palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 80,032 tonnes, comprising 61,894 tonnes import cargo and 26,138 tonnes export cargo inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,405 containers (TUEs) was handled at the Port following were the highlights in tonnes during last 24 hours.

Three ships C.V ACX Marguerite, M.T Golden Ambrosia and M.T Chemroad Fuji sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships C.V CMA CGM Puccini, C.V Kathec Rickmers are expected to sail on same day.

A total five ships C.V Dubai Express C.V Nicoline Maersk, C.V Libra Ipanema, C.V MSC Diman and M.T chemroad Mega carrying containers and Palm oil were expected to take berth at container terminal and liquid cargo terminal respectively on Thursday, 14th July. Container ship Pago is due to arrive at Port Qasim on the same day, while tow more ships C.V Glory and C.V MSC Natalia are due to arrive on Friday.
