Pakistan, Iran enjoying close ties: Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran are enjoying close relations and expressed the hope that border mechanism would be improved to avoid any untoward incident at Pak-Iran border.

This was stated by Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz while talking to newsmen here after addressing the concluding session of trilateral dialogue on China-Afghanistan-Pakistan.

Sartaj Aziz said border mechanism between Pakistan and Iran is being improved so that violation of border from any side could be stopped.

Expressing concern on the recent incidents happened across Pak-Iran border in Baluchistan, the Advisor said due to the movement of some miscreants, along the border, these incidents were happened.

He said border mechanism is being improved through mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Iran, and assured that the situation along border will be improved very soon.

The Advisor said Pakistan is in contact with the Iranian leadership to improve border mechanism so that the incident happened a couple of days ago will not be repeated in future.

He said Pakistan and Iran are also discussing at various levels to further promote Pak-Iran ties especially in the field of trade and economic.
