The Information Minister said the progress of Balochistan was directly linked with the development of country and Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package was a major step in that regard. The government would take more measures to bring people of Balochistan in national mainstream.

Dr Firdous Ashiq said the government was desirous of bringing all less developed areas at par with the developed ones.

She urged the official media to give more coverage to Balochistan and highlight the problems of its people.

She said there was a need to increase cooperation with the Balochistan government to counter propaganda of anti- national elements. If the provincial government wanted to open an FM radio channel, the federal government would fully cooperate with it, she added.

Thanking the Information Minister for cooperation with his government, Chief Minister Raisani hoped that the Federal Information Ministry would help the provincial government in capacity building and training of journalists from Balochistan.

Secretary Information Taimur Azmat Osman, Managing Director of Pakistan Television Corporation Yusuf Baig Mirza, Managing Director of Associated Press of Pakistan Muhammad Riaz, Director General of Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi, Principal Information Officer (PIO) Muhammad Salim and other senior officers of the ministry were also present in the meeting.
