Thai GDP growth seen at 4-5pc over 5 years

BANGKOK : Thailand 's economy is expected to grow 4-5 percent over the next five fiscal years, the state planning agenc

"The economic target in the 11th plan is to boost the economic growth rate at an appropriate rate, in line with the country's potential," Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, secretary general of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB), told a workshop.

"Growth of 4 to 5 percent is acceptable," he said.

The five-year national economic and social development plan will start from October 2011.

The NESDB has forecast economic growth of 3.5-4.5 percent for full-year 2011.
