Indian shares flat in early trade, Idea rises

Idea Cellular rose 1.5 percent after it said a tribunal stayed the country's telecoms ministry from enforcing fines worth 2.5 billion rupees ($56.3 million) on the telecoms company over alleged violation of telecoms rules in its takeover of a smaller rival.

At 9:15 a.m. (0345 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was down 0.01 percent at 18,743.07 points.

The 50-share NSE index was down 0.1 percent at 5,629.55.
