Six killed, 18 injured in Orangi firing
Police said that activists of two rival political parties exchanged firing in Orangi. Resultantly, six people were killed and 18 others sustained injuries.
The victims included 35-year-old Gul Nawab, 30-year-old Aijaz and 25-year-old Javeed s/o Wahab; however, the identity of remaing three victims could not be ascertained till filing this story.
At least 19 people were injured the firing. They included 31-year-old Yar Mohammad, 20-year-old Zohaib s/o Nawaz Ahmed, 25-year-old Rameez s/o Muneer, 35-year-old Mohammad Ajaz s/o Abdul Aziz, 20-year-old Atif, 23-year Sajad, Junaid, Mohammad Shafique, Mohammad Yaseen, Afasar Ali, Ghulam Mohammad, Bilal and 35-year-old Azam Sawati. Sawati was the press secretary of Awami National Party (ANP) district West Karachi.
The bodies and injured were rushed to the different hospitals of the city including Qatar Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and Aga Khan Hospital (AKH), police said.
Police said they were trying to control the situation. Firing was continued in the area till filing this report.
