Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships C.V CMA CGM Moliere and C.V APL Oman carrying containers were took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal at Port Qasim on Thursday, August 28. Meanwhile two more ships C.V ER Denmark and M.T AI-Salam-II with containers and 62,560 tonnes diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy at the Port remained at 50% where seven ships namely C.V APL Oman, C.V Safmarine Ngarni, C.V Moliere, M.V Ince Ilgaz, M.T Prosperity, M.T Desh Prem and M.T Genuine Hercules are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload containers, rape seeds, palm oil, diesel oil and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation remained upward trend at the Port of 162,436 tonnes comprises 107,716 tonnes imports and 54,720 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 5,304 containers (TEUs) ( 2,424 imports and 2,880 exports TEUs) were handled during last 24 hours.

Departures: Three ships, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V APL Oman and M.T Genuine Hercules sailed out to sea on Friday morning while three more ships C.V Moliere, M.T Prosperity and M.T Desh Prem are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Arrival Schedule: Four ships C.V ER Denmark, M.V Ocean Future, M.T Quetta and M.T Beach Galaxy scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat, furnace oil and phosphoric acid are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Friday, August 29, while another ship C.V MSC Antigya is due to arrive Port Qasim on Saturday, August 30 and C.V Freedom and M.T Argent Iris are due to arrive on Sunday, August 31, 2014.
