Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V Posen, C.V Cape Melville and M.T Al-Salam-II carrying containers and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Monday.

Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers, chemicals and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at forty three percent on monday where six ships namely C.V Posen, C.V Cape Melville, M.V Glovanni, Bottigieri, M.V Maricana, M.T Argent Aster and M.T Al-Salam- II were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, canola seeds, iron ore, diesel oil and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 82,618 tonnes, comprises 73,764 tonnes imports and 8,854 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,449 containers (TEUs) (1,003 imports and 446 exports TEUs) were handled at the port.

Container ship, container vessel 'Cape Melville' sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while an oil tanker 'Al-Salam-II' is expected to sail on same day afternoon.

four ships C.V Al-Farahdi, M.T Golden Gate Park, m.T Hong Hai-36 and M.T Anema-e-Core carrying containers, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday.
