Khairpur special economic zone to have all infrastructural facilities

SUKKUR: Commissioner Sukkur Muhammad Abbas Baloch has said that Sindh Government has initiated many important projects, and Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) is a link of this chain adding that with the establishment of the KSEZ, our agricultural product may be increased and our growers may get appropriate rates and other benefits on their product.

This he said while presiding over a meeting regarding 3rd allotment committee meeting in connection with allotment of the plots of Khairpur SEZ here on Friday.

The Commissioner said that with the establishment and encouragement of industry, unemployment ratio may also be reduced. He informed the meeting that KSEZ will have 20 Mega Watt Power plant including drainage system, water supply, wide roads and other required necessary facilities.

Besides National Highway and Motorway is also being constructed close to it to provide the investors easy transportation facilities.

He hoped that after establishment of the zone, foreign investment will be increased, which may be beneficial in increase of the overall economy of the country as well.

On the occasion, Commissioner Sukkur assured investors and industrialists that maintenance of law and order here will be on the top priority.

Director Sukkur IBA and chairman of the plots allotment committee of the Zone Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui said that our growers usually suffer financial losses because of almost 30 percent to 40 percent wastage of the dates every year due to improper planning.

He informed that especially concentration is being made on cold storage in the zone, so that dates may be preserved safely for the required period and it could be exported according to the modern techniques.
