Newly elected AJK Assembly's session in last week of July
The present Legislative Assembly will complete its tenure on July 23 while notification of newly elected members is likely to be issued after July 9.
Although, PPP has emerged as a single largest party with the massive support of the people of Azad Kashmir, it will however, follow the reconciliation policy envisaged by President Asif Ali Zardari.
"Hence, we will invite other political parties to join us in formation of the government", a central leader of PPP and former AJK Prime Minister, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary told APP here on Thursday.
PPP Central Secretary General, Jahangir Badar said that his party can form its government in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir, alone, but it would move forward by taking along other political parties.
Any political party forming government in AJK needs the support of 21 members of Legislative Assembly.
The PPP with its 19, out of 34 seats is well on course to form the government and has started efforts in this regard.
According to the unofficial results of 34 seats announced so far, PPP won 19 seats, Pakistan Muslim League-N 9, Muslim Conference 4, while 2 independent were also declared successful.
Out of 41 seats of the Legislative Assembly elections were held on 37 seats as the Election Commission of AJK had postponed polling for three seats (LA-30 Karachi Jammu-1, LA-36 Karachi Kashmir Valley-1 and LA-41 Abbotabad), citing security reasons.
