Steps being taken to overcome energy crisis: Abid Sher Ali

MULTAN: State Minister for Water & Power Abid Sher Ali said that the incumbent government was taking various steps on war footing to overcome the energy crisis.

While addressing national flag hoisting ceremony here at MEPCO Headquarters, state minister said that incumbent government has fully focussed on resolving the energy crisis.

He said that work was in progress on more than 18 coal projects and added that 2400 megawatt Port Qasim and 2400 watt Jam Shoro coal projects have also been started. He said that these projects would be completed within two years.

Abid Sher Ali said that 2000 megawatt energy would be added to the national grid system from different small projects of 50 megawatt each in the next one and half year.

Addressing on this occasion, Chief Executive Officer Muzaffar Ali Abassi said that the independence day celebrations were being held at MEPCO headquarters and added that the company was taking all possible steps to become No-1 in the realm of service provision.

He paid rich tributes to all the soldiers who embraced martyrdom for the security of the country.
