Australian dollar rises after inflation data

WELLINGTON: The Australian dollar gained more than a quarter of a cent on Wednesday after inflation data came in stronger than expected.

The headline figure was in line with expectations but underlying measures were stronger than forecast.

The Aussie hit a high of $0.9434 from $0.9388 before the data.
