BEIJING: China's implied oil demand in June rose 2.6 percent from a year earlier to 10.2 million barrels per day (bpd), according to Reuters' calculations based on preliminary government data.

Implied, or apparent, demand is a combination of crude oil processed and net imports of refined products.

It ignores inventory changes, which are rarely disclosed by the government.
