Operation against profiteers expedited during Ramazan: Commissioner

SUKKUR: Commissioner Sukkur, Muhamamd Abbas Baloch Tuesday said that the operation against profiteers has been expedited in the holy month of Ramazan to provide relief to the masses.

He said the process of charging fines and sending the profiteers to jail was being carried out.

In the first 15 days of Ramazan 121 shopkeepers have been fined with Rs 37,500 and 13 sent to jail for selling commodities against officially approved price list.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting at his office here.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur, Shahzad Tahir Thaheem, SSP Sukkur Tanveer Tunio, Assistant Commissioner (ACs) of the various Talukas, TMA authorities and other concerned officials of the different departments were also present on the occasion.
