Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Portugal and M.V Marvel Scan carrying containers and general cargo were arranged berthing at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively Port Qasim on Monday, 7th July. Meanwhile two more ships schedule to load/offload containers and cement also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 43% on Monday where six ships namely C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Portugal, M.T Songa Breeze, M.V Marvel scan, M.V Mega Ocean and M.T Khuran were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, palm oil, general cargo, coal and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 109,772 tonnes comprises 51,240 tonnes imports and 58,532 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,531 containers (TEUs) ( 1,188 imports and 343 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.

Departures: Two ships C.V Portugal and M.t Songa Breeze sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while an oil tanker 'Khuran' shifted to outer anchorage.

Arrival Schedule: five ships C.V CMA CGM Molari, C.V Al-Abdali, M.V Ocean Royal, M.T Brizo and M.T Atlantic Glory scheduled to load/offload carrying containers, cement, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, M.W-2, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Tuesday, 8th July, 2014, while three more ships C.V Express Kalash, C.V CMA CGM Balzac and C.V MSC Jenny are due to arrive on Wednesday, 9th July, 2014.
