Govt committed to providing gas facility to Balochistan's districts: Jam Kamal

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal said Monday the government was committed to providing facility of gas to all districts of Balochistan.

In a statement issued here, the state minister said the gas was being provided on the special directives of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the minister was monitoring pace of progress, in this regard, he added.

He said the present government accorded importance to initiate development projects in the province for immediate social and economic uplift.

He further mentioned that natural gas would be provided thorough Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) as SNG air mix plants.

He said SSGC had prepared feasibility reports and estimations and floated tenders so that procedural recommendations could be sought in this regard.

He said the present government under the leadership of the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif sincerely wanted to redress the grievances of people of Balochistan thorough launching speedy developmental projects.

He said energy was one of the core issues of Pakistan and this government was fully dedicated in resolving those problems.

He said Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources was putting its utmost efforts in not only developing and improving the current structures but enhancing and introducing new ventures like LNG.

He said there was no short cut with regard to resolving energy issues and added government's efforts would soon yielding results.
