Indonesian rupiah falls to weakest level in more than 4 months

SINGAPORE: The Indonesian rupiah fell to its weakest in more than four months on Wednesday on worries about the country's current account deficit amid higher oil prices and uncertainty over the upcoming presidential election.

The rupiah slid 0.5 percent to 12,040 per dollar, its weakest since Feb 13. The currency's implied volatility has risen recently with one-month volatilities rising to 9.5 percent from around 7.5 percent on June 13.
