Pakistan wants friendly relations with India: Gohar Ayub

ISLAMABAD : Former foreign minister Gohar Ayub Khan on Saturday said that Pakistan wants friendly relations with India

Talking to a private news channel, he said summit level talks between both the countries will help to bring concrete results on major outstanding issues.

Former minister welcomed foreign secretaries’ level talks and termed them as part of reconciliation process.

Replying to a question regarding terrorism he said Pakistan itself is the worst victim of terrorism and it sincerely wants to root out this menace from the region.

Professor Naveeta Chadda Behra of Political Science Delhi University also said that Indian government and public consider talks with Pakistan and their continuity as imperative for the resolution of outstanding issues between the two countries.

She said solution of all issues between the two countries can be sought only through bilateral talks.

Commenting on recent Pak-India Foreign Secretaries level talks held in Islamabad, she said these talks are being seen as a ray of hope, believing that no new hurdle will come in the process of reconciliation.
