SINGAPORE: Taiwan's CPC has shut an 80,000 barrels per day (bpd) gasoline-making unit at its Talin refinery following an outage, its spokesman said on Wednesday.

The unit, which was shut on Tuesday, will be down for about seven days and the impact on gasoline and diesel will be minimal as the firm has sufficient stocks, he added.

CPC operates a total of three refineries in Taiwan which have a total capacity of 770,000 bpd. The older Kaohsiung plant has been given a deadline to shut by 2015 by the Taiwanese government.
