MoU inked for solid waste management in city

The MoU signing ceremony was held here at the Jinnah Hall with the Commissioner Lahore Division Nadeem Hassan Asif in chair while DCO Ahad Cheema, SWMC Managing Director Waseem Ajmal and other senior officers of CDGL, TMOs and SWMC were also present.

DCO addressing the media stated that under the contract, the whole working and services by the old Solid Waste Management department of district government now would be shifted to the SWMC which was set up by the Punjab Government to make the city clean and beautiful.

He added that the SWMC would establish a modern system to collect and dispose the solid waste from every part of the city.

He said that the SWMC would be responsible for the cleanliness of provincial capital. He said that the SWMC has acquired sufficient machinery and manpower to deal with the task in a better manner.

DCO said that under the contract, all offices, staff and responsibilities would be shifted to the new company.

Wasim Ajmal informed the media about the services and functions of the SWMC and added that the staff of the company would deliver to the citizen in well manner. He said that the company had capacity to dispose the solid waste collected from the city.
