BUCHAREST: Romania sold a planned 500 million lei ($154.23 million) worth of six-month treasury bills on Thursday, with the average accepted yield at 2.07 percent, central bank data showed.

Debt managers last sold six-month paper in April, at an average yield of 2.73 percent.

Emerging European debt yields have rallied in recent months, driven by investors' apetite for higher-yielding assets. In Romania, low inflation and strong market liquidity have helped push debt yields near record lows in recent weeks.

So far this year, Romania sold just under 23 billion lei and 700 milion euros in domestic debt tenders. It has also tapped foreign markets with bond dollar and euro bond issues.
