The 22 people released by Somali pirates reached the Karachi dockyard after six days of journey by sea, a private news channel reported.

The released hostages include four Pakistanis, 11 Egyptians, six Indians and a Sri Lankan national.

Four Pakistanis include Ship Captain Wasi Hasan, Engineer Syed Alam, Chief Officer Ali Rehman and diesel mechanic Muzzammil. Governor Sindh Eshrat ul Ebad along with hundreds of people have welcomed him at Dockyard.

A ceremony will be held in their honor at Governor House.
