Keeps main interest rate steady at 1.0pc

FRANKFURT: The European Central Bank kept its main interest rate at a record low level of 1.0 percent on Thursday, a spokesman said as markets tracked climbing inflation across the 17-nation eurozone.

The bank also kept two other benchmark rates, the marginal lending rate and the deposit rate, unchanged at 1.75 percent and 0.25 percent.
