Power shortfall surges to 3300 MW

ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country again surged to 3,300 MW as the total generation on Wednesday was recorded as 13,300 MW against the demand of 16,900 MW at 09:00 hours.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) the hydel generation stood at 4,630 MW, Wapda Thermal 2,010 MW, Wind 30 MW and Independent power producers (IPPs) 6660 MW.

The hydel generation has significantly increased owing to more water discharge from both the reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams and stood at 4,630 MW.
