Power shortfall again increases to 2,000 MW

ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country on Wednesday again surged 2,000 MW as the total generation was recorded as 12,800 MW against the demand of 14,800 MW at 12:30 hours.

According to daily data released by the National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 5,100 MW, thermal 1,510 MW and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 6,190 MW and Wind 13 MW.

The hydel generation has significantly increased owing to more water discharge from Tarbela and Mangla dams and stood at 5,100 MW.
