ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country on Tuesday slightly eased to 1,950 MW from 2,100 MW as the total generation was recorded as 12,350 MW against the demand of 14,400 MW at 10:30 hours.

According to daily data released by the National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 4,560 MW, thermal 1,660 MW, Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 6,130 MW and Wind 13 MW.

The hydel generation has increased owing to more water discharge from Tarbela and Mangla dams.

Meanwhile, power distribution companies have resorted to 4-6 hour load-shedding in their respective areas.
