LONDON: European stock markets closed lower on Friday, with London's FTSE 100 sliding 0.36 percent to 6,814.57 points.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 0.27 percent to 9,581.45 points while the CAC 40 in Paris dropped 0.66 percent to 4,477.28 points.
