Zardari, Emomali Rahmon agree to expand economic ties

The two leaders pledged to intensity joint efforts to increase the volume of trade between the two countries during a meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Sharing views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest, they discussed the prospects of starting more projects in energy, banking, transportation and communication sectors.

President Zardari assured of Pakistan's full support to the international community in keeping peace and stability in region.

He said Pakistan wanted to expand relations with Central Asian states, which are rich in natural resources and can take advantage of the huge market offered by Pakistan.

The two leaders shared the optimism that more exchanges between businessmen and private sectors of the two countries can unleash the huge latent potential of their educated and skilled people.
