Power shortfall eases to 1,700 MW

ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country further eased to 1,700 MW as the total generation on Tuesday was recorded at 10,600 MW against the demand of 12,300 MW at 1000 hours.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 3,580 MW, Thermal 1,610, Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 5,410 MW and Wind 6 MW.

The hydel generation has significantly increased owing to more water discharge from Tarbela and Mangla dams and stood at 3,580 MW.
