Six killed, five injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Six persons were killed and five others injured in different violence incidents in the city on Friday. Two men, Isarul Qasimi, 40, and Masood Ahmed, were killed, while Ziaur Rehman, son of Shabhiur Rehman, was injured when unknown armed men opened fire on them near a mosque in Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi.

The victims and injured were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively. Samiullah, 40, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Sheerin Jinnah Colony.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy. The bodies of two men packed in gunny bags were found near the river in Korangi Crossing.

Police said the deceased were identified as Muhammad Ali Khan, 40, son of Mujasem Khan and Syed Qasim Ali, 25, son of Syed Ali Shah.

The bodies were shifted to JMPC for medico-legal formalities. Separately, the three-day-old body of a woman was found from a residential apartment in Bahadrabad. She was identified as Shabana.

The body was shifted to JPMC for a postmortem. A 25-year-old, Sarfaraz, son of Riaz, was shot and injured on resistance during a robbery bid in Chakiwar, Lyari.

The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment. Unidentified armed men shot and injured Abdul Malik, 25, son of Abdul Hameed, near KMC graveyard in Baldia Town.

The injured was brought to CHK for treatment.

Two persons were also injured in Defence phase 4 and other on Super Highway near vegetable market when armed dacoits opened fire on them over resisting a robbery attempt.

The injured were shifted to JPMC and ASH for treatment respectively.
