The court summoned prosecution witnesses on June 16 after Moonis Elahi pleaded not gulity. Earlier, FIA officials presented Moonis before Special Judge Banking Offence (Central) Malik Abdul Rasheed amid strict security arrangements.
Moonis's counsel arguing on a civil miscellaneous application pleaded the court to provide copies of witnesses statements wherein they had retracted from their earlier statements before Judicial Magistrate Irfan Basra saying that it was signed by them under pressure.
However, the court rejected the plea observing that the statements had been sealed. Later, Moonis's counsel withdrew their application for providing copies of the witnesses statements.
The court indicted Moonis Elahi, his manager Abdul Maalick, Rizwan Bhatti and Khalil Ahmad in the scam and summoned witnesses for June 16 after the four accused pleaded innocent.
The court was hearing a case against Moonis Elahi for receiving Rs 320 million from NICL through bogus accounts.
