Talking to mediamen following meeting with the Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, the Secretary said National Refinery Limited (NRL) and the PARCO would increase the supply of petrol to maximum possible capacity and make stock available to tackle the petrol shortage in the country.

He said all oil tankers stationed at Faisalabad will be mobilized immediately, and added a team comprising representatives from OMCs and Petroleum Ministry were visiting Lahore and Faisalabad to monitor the situation and report back to Petroleum Ministry.

He said action would be taken against any petrol pump which would not supplying petrol to consumers despite having available stock and that the OMCs would be provided the same amount of oil as per their requirements in all the future gallop tenders.

He said the PSO may consider providing oil to other companies to the extent possible without affecting its own performance.

He said Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) would repair the damaged platformer sooner than planned in mid July.
