Huawei picks Hungary for logistics centre

BUDAPEST : China 's Huawei Technologies plans to create a European logistics centre in Hungary and boost production c

Quoting William Chen, head of Huawei's Europe Supply Centre, MTI said the planned capacity expansion would raise revenue from the company's Hungarian output to about $3 billion next year from $1.2 billion expected in 2011.

It said the expansion would triple the number of workers indirectly employed by the company to 3,000.Huawei set up its Europe Supply Centre in Hungary in 2009.

Huawei told MTI in April that it would expand its supply centre in Hungary, making it the company's second-biggest in the world.
