The project is being funded by the Employees Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) as the agreement was finalized between the two organization of Ministry of Labour and Manpower recently.
Talking to APP here Monday, Managing Director OEC Saeed Ahmed Shaikh said that the 4000 SqYd Plot where the OEC Tower is being built was allotted in the year 1982 by CDA.
However, due to financial difficulties of the organization it was not possible for OEC to initiate work on the proposed tower.
MD OEC appreciated the efforts made by the Minister Labour and Manpower and Chairman EOBI for initiation of OEC Tower Islamabad.
He said that the investment on OEC Tower is primarily a Business Venture and it is expected that the Institution will be able to recover the cost of investment within a period of six years.
He further informed that the tower will strengthen the financial health of OEC and will ultimately ensure that OEC will be able to service the nation uninterruptedly by sending Pakistani Manpower abroad for employment.
Saeed Shaikh appreciated this joint venture between two organizations of Labour and Manpower Division and hoped that the venture brings an overall benefit to the Institutions in General and Public in Particular.
He appreciated the efforts being made by Chairman EOBI in making this event a success.
