At least 26 injured in bomb attack on Napier Road hotel

Attackers were riding a motorcycle, eyewitnesses said. The number of attackers is said to be four.

Rescue teams shifted injured people to Civil Hospital where three are in critical condition.

The explosion damaged a gas pipeline and panic spread in the area when gas and smoke started leaking out profusely.

The incident took place after midnight at Thokar Gali, which isfrequented by people till late in the night.

The Kharadar police however denied that any restaurant was the target and said the bomb was hurled at people sitting in street and only 11 people were injured, as mentioned in FIR.

According to Kharadar police three unidentified accused riding a bike lobbed the hand grenade on people.

The injured include Noor Mohammad s/o Tayab Ali, Sartaj s/o Azhar Khan, Farhan s/o Abdul Khaliq, Aqil s/o Tariq, Zeeshan s/o Israr, Kamran s/o Israr, Amir s/o Abdul Sattar, Naeem s/o Abdul Mutalib, Bilal s/o Rehman, Guddu s/o Abdul Khaliq and Falaq daughter of Fahad.

The injured persons were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medical treatment.

The police have registered FIR No. 225/2011 against unidentified accused and started a probe into the case.
