City administration arrests three profiteers and 85 others

KARACHI: City administration has arrested three profiteers and fined 85 others for selling substandard items and overcharging consumers of milk, vegetable, fruit, grocery and chicken.

According to details made available on Monday by Karachi commissioner office's spokesman a fine of Rs 94,500 was imposed on 85 retailers from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad, Bin Qasim, Gadap and Korangi.

They included three grocers, four meat sellers, five vegetable sellers, 10 fruit sellers, 13 milk sellers and 42 chicken sellers.
