Power shortfall eases to 1,900 MW

ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country further eased to 1,900 MW as the total generation on Friday was recorded as 9,300 MW against the demand of 11,200 MW at 0900 hours.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 3,450 MW, Thermal 790 MW and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 5,060 MW.

The hydel generation has significantly improved and stood at 3,450 MW as the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) increased water discharge from both water reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams.
