Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships C.V Saigon Express, C.V Box Contact, C.V Tabea and M.T DL Violet carrying containers and chemicals were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Thursday, 06th February-2014. Meanwhile four more ships with containers and coke also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at fifty percent on Thursday where seven ships namely C.V Saigon Express, C.V Box Contact, C.V Tabea, C.V Chopin, M.T Gonuine Galaxy, M.T Norgas Innovation and M.T DL Violet were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers palm oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 78,649 tonnes, comprises 45,519 tonnes imports and 33,130 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,368 containers (TEUs) (1,701 imports and 1,667 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Three ships Containers Vessal 'Saigon Express and Box Contact' and chemicals carrier 'Genuine Galaxy' sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.

Two ships C.V CMA CGM and C.V MSC Kerry carrying containers are expected to take berths at QICT on Friday, 07th February, while Container Vessel 'MSC Didem' and oil Tanker 'Lahore' are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, 8th February and 'Naia Delmas' is due to arrive on Sunday, 9th February.
