73 shopkeepers arrested for overcharging, five jailed

KARACHI: City district administration during its campaign against profiteering and hoarding of essential items arrested 73 shopkeepers for violating the official price list of edible items and recovered a total of Rs78 thousand as fine from them on Saturday.

The action was taken by the district authorities in New Karachi, Gulberg, Airport, Shah Faisal, Model Colony, Garden and Gulshan-e- Iqbal.

Five shopkeepers were sent to jail for their continuous indulgence in overcharging.
