Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships carrying containers, gen. cargo, wheat, furnace oil and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FAP Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Wednesday.

Meanwhile six more ships carrying containers, furnace oil, and edible oil are also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Berth occupancy was 55 percent at the Port on Thursday where a six ships namely CGM Verdi, Sevgi, Inlaco Brave, M.T Gemini Pioneer, M.T Bateel and Chem Road Quest are currently occupying berths to load/offload, containers, gen. cargo, wheat, urea, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 50024 tonnes comprising 40070 tonnes imports and 9954 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 938 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
